Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In the program, the assessment criteria are mainly organized into three categories: theoretical courses, laboratory work, and practical training. For each course, at least one midterm exam and one final exam are held during the semester. Depending on the nature of the course, the instructor may also assign additional activities such as quizzes, homework, projects, or fieldwork.
Instructors are free to determine the weight of assessments such as midterms, finals, quizzes, and projects in the overall evaluation.
For each course, students are awarded a letter grade as their final grade. The letter grades and their corresponding grade points are as follows:
Grade Coefficient
A 4.0
A- 3.7
B+ 3.3
B 3.0
B- 2.7
C+ 2.3
C 2.0
C- 1.7
D+ 1.3
D 1.0
F1 0.0
F2 0.0
If a student has missing practical work or cannot be graded within the regular grading period due to taking a make-up exam, they are temporarily given an "E" grade. Students who receive an E grade must complete their missing work and/or take the make-up exam within ten days following the announcement of grades.
Extension of this period must be approved by the relevant unit?s administrative board.
If the E grade is not converted into another grade within fifteen days, it will automatically be converted to an F1 grade.
For internships or practice-based courses conducted outside the academic calendar, an "S" grade is given. This grade must be converted to a final grade by the end of the add/drop period of the following academic semester, based on the decision of the relevant unit?s administrative board.
