At the end of this course, the students;
- The student can comprehend the basic thermodynamic cycles (especially the Brayton cycle) behind gas turbines and analyze the difference between their ideal and real-world applications.
- The student can identify the main components that make up a gas turbine (compressor, combustion chamber, turbine) and accurately explain the function of each component and its place within the system.
- The student can determine the use of gas turbines in various sectors, such as power generation, aviation, and marine applications, and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of these applications.
- The student can analyze the factors affecting gas turbine performance (temperature, pressure) and acquire knowledge about basic troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
