About the Programme
General Information
Başkent University Faculty of Dentistry was established in 1999. Our department was established in 2000 and started doctoral education in the 2000-2001 academic year. The department is located in the Faculty of Dentistry building in the Bahçelievler campus of Başkent University. As of 2025, 3 professors, 1 associate professor, 4 assistant professors, 2 lecturers and 14 research assistants work full-time in our department. Decisions regarding the department are made by the Academic Board consisting of all faculty members of the department. The department is managed by the head of the department. Doctoral education is 8 semesters (4 years); the first 3 semesters are reserved for compulsory and elective doctoral courses, 1 semester for doctoral qualification studies and the last 4 semesters for thesis studies. These courses and studies are accompanied by intensive clinical education for 4 years. The language of instruction in our department is Turkish, while a foreign language (English) is the barrier.
