Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The assessment criteria in the program are primarily structured around theoretical courses, laboratory work, and practical studies. At least one midterm examination and one final examination are conducted per semester for each course. Depending on the course requirements, the instructor may assign instructional activities such as quizzes, homework, projects, field work, etc. Instructors are authorized to evaluate academic performance and adjust the relative weightings based on midterm examinations, final examinations, quizzes, projects, and similar activities. Students are awarded one of the following letter grades as a final passing grade for each course. The letter grades and their coefficient equivalents are specified in the table below.
An "E" grade is assigned to students whose practical work is incomplete or whose final grade cannot be evaluated within the grading deadline due to an upcoming excuse examination. A student receiving an "E" grade completes any missing assignments, if applicable, and takes the excuse examination within ten days at the latest following the announcement of grades. The decision to extend this period rests with the relevant unit administrative board. "E" grades that are not extended by the decision of the unit administrative board or replaced with another grade within fifteen days automatically revert to an "F1" grade. An "S" grade is awarded for internships or practical courses conducted outside the academic calendar. This grade is converted into one of the standard passing grades by the decision of the relevant unit administrative board no later than the end of the add-drop period of the subsequent academic semester.
