Course DescriptionFor today's children, animated films and cartoons?much like children's literature?serve as important and effective visual tools in education and learning. The family, social environment, and school into which a child is born are significant factors in the formation of child culture. Play, reading, and recreation are key activities within child culture, and the importance of cartoons and animations alongside these activities is undeniable. Animation is also observed to play an active role in the play culture children create for themselves and in their other creative processes. Grounded in these insights and findings, the "Child Culture and Animation" course encompasses activities involving the examination, research, and practical application of cartoons and animations within the contexts of child education, learning, and creativity.
