At Başkent University, “An Information and Coordination Unit for the Disabled Students” is established in order to ease their lives and enable them to go on with their academic work under conditions similar to others.
The commission has members from the related areas and academicians who have knowledge in disability.
The unit’s work
Learning on equal terms
The education program is arranged so as not to complicate the academic, physical, psychological and social lives of disabled students. The unit works to provide:
- An appropriate physical environment
- Equipment for disabled students
- Special learning materials
- Suitable education, research and hosting facilities
Accessible campus
The campus area, the buildings (entrances, toilets, elevators etc.) and the parking areas are all accessible.
