About the Programme

General Information

The Foreign Trade program at Başkent University's Vocational School of Social Sciences offers a two-year (four-semester) education after high school. All high school graduates are required to take the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). Graduates from vocational and technical secondary schools in fields and branches determined by ÖSYM can be admitted to the Foreign Trade program with additional points, while graduates from other fields or high schools can be admitted with their TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) score.

Our Foreign Trade program implements an education and training program based on the "3+1" themed "On-the-Job Vocational Training Model." This approach aims to introduce students to the working world while they are studying, strengthen their theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and facilitate their adaptation to the workforce after graduation. During the On-the-Job Vocational Training period, students receive a salary/wage from the company they work for according to the contract, and their insurance against work accidents and occupational diseases is provided by our University.

Our Foreign Trade program offers students the opportunity to pursue double majors and participate in the Erasmus program.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, we have 17 places available with a 50% discount and 6 places available with 100% scholarships. Based on the 2026 YKS (University Entrance Examination) first placement results, we achieved a 100% placement rate.

Throughout the two-year education period, we assist our students in their personal and professional development by organizing various conferences, seminars, meetings with business professionals, various projects, and technical trips to provide career guidance and support. We constantly update and renew our program curriculum according to developments in the sector and the changing conditions of the day.

Our aim is to train competent foreign trade professionals, especially for the IMPORT & EXPORT (FOREIGN TRADE) DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL and CUSTOMS BROKERAGE sector.

Our graduates have the opportunity to transfer to undergraduate programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

We extend our best regards and wish you success.
