| Course Description | Robot Learning is a new field, which studies how robots can acquire skills and control their bodies using machine learning techniques. The module takes off where the Reinforcement Learning module finishes, and begins by teaching how reinforcement learning can be applied to physical robots in real-world scenarios. Then, the module introduces classical control methods based on analytical modelling, which can be combined with learning-based methods to trade off their strengths. Finally, the module studies how robots can learn new tasks from interaction with humans. Courseworks will investigate how to implement these methods in Python, and students will train a robot using computer simulation. |
