Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Define the anatomical and functional components of language, speech, and communication processes within the nervous system.
  2. Identify the major brain structures and neural pathways involved in language and speech.
  3. Explain the effects of the cerebral cortex, hemispheres, and hemispheric dominance on language and speech processes, using relevant examples.
  4. Compare components of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including afferent?efferent systems and upper and lower motor neurons.
  5. Explain the neurobiological mechanisms underlying learning, memory, and speech
  6. Compare classical and contemporary theories of language and speech, including their key assumptions.
  7. Summarize and relate neuroimaging techniques (e.g., MRI, fMRI, PET, EEG) and related research findings to language and speech processes
Mode of DeliveryFace to face

Course DescriptionThe main goal of the course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge in the field of brain's language areas, enabling them to gain a basic understanding of the brain's areas related to language and to acquire in-depth knowledge of their functions through the use of this information.
