Profile of the Programme
In order to protect the environment and human health, to ensure sustainability in agriculture and natural resources, organic agriculture activities are developing rapidly in our country as in the whole world, and job opportunities are increasing in agricultural enterprises and firms working in this field. Along with job opportunities, students of this program prefer companies that produce and process organic crops and livestock for workplace practices. Organic agriculture is a form of controlled and certified agricultural production from production to consumption without using chemical inputs.
The aim of the Organic Agriculture Program is to educate "Organic Agriculture Technician" who has developed environmental protection awareness in the field of organic agriculture, developed the ability to use modern production techniques that do not harm the environment and human health with theoretical and practical teaching.
Organic Agriculture Program aims to train expert labor force who can work as a technician to meet the changing and developing needs of the sector. Upon completion of the basic courses, emphasis is given to the courses related to the field. The applications of the courses are carried out through on-site training in cooperation with the sector. In order to support and reinforce the knowledge taught in the textbooks in the program,students being able to workplace practical training for 70 working days (1 semester) is compulsory. Graduates of the department have the opportunity to transfer to the programs which are educated with formal or distance education system in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the continuation of undergraduate education of the graduates of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Programs.
