Course DescriptionThis course examines the formation and transformation phases of art, focusing on the social, cultural, and historical processes within each geographical area. Beginning with the Paleolithic period and incorporating new discoveries, it traces the development of prominent art examples up to the beginning of the 20th century. In addition to the development of art within its own geography, the course also explores the influences and effects of cross-cultural interactions. Accordingly, the following stages of art are covered, with a primary focus on the Mediterranean, European, and Anatolian regions. The course aims to present students with the historical and cultural transformation of art, rather than relying on rote memorization.
