Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The evaluation criteria in the program are structured around three main components: theoretical courses, laboratory studies, and practical work. For each course, at least one midterm examination and one final examination are conducted per semester. Depending on the nature of the course, the instructor may assign instructional activities such as quizzes, homework, projects, or fieldwork throughout the semester. Instructors are free to assess student performance and adjust the relative weightings based on midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, projects, and similar activities. One of the following letter grades is awarded to students as a final achievement grade for each course. The letter grades and their corresponding quality points are as follows:

Students whose practical work in a course is incomplete or whose final grade cannot be determined within the grading period due to an upcoming makeup examination are assigned an "E" grade. A student who receives an "E" grade must complete any missing work and take the makeup exam within no later than ten days following the announcement of grades. Any extension of this period is decided by the relevant unit administrative board. "E" grades that are not extended by a board decision or converted to another letter grade within fifteen days automatically turn into an "F1" grade. An "S" grade is awarded for internships or practical courses conducted outside the academic semester calendar. This grade is converted to one of the final achievement grades by a decision of the relevant unit administrative board, no later than the end of the add-drop period of the following academic semester.
