Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The assessment criteria for the program are structured around theoretical courses, laboratory work, and practical work. For each course, at least one midterm exam and a final exam are administered during the semester. Depending on the nature of the course, the instructor may assign additional academic activities such as quizzes, homework, projects, or fieldwork during the term. Instructors have the discretion to determine how performance is evaluated and to adjust the weighting of activities such as midterm exams, final exams, quizzes, and projects. Students are assigned one of the following letter grades for each course. The letter grades and their corresponding coefficients are as follows: An "E" grade is assigned to students who have incomplete practical work for a course or whose final grade could not be determined within the standard grading period due to their participation in a make-up exam. Students receiving an "E" grade must complete any outstanding work and take the make-up exam within ten days of the grade announcement. Decisions regarding the extension of this period are made by the relevant unit's administrative board. "E" grades that are not extended by a decision of the unit's administrative board or replaced with another grade within fifteen days automatically convert to an "F1" grade. An "S" grade is assigned for internships or practical courses conducted outside the standard academic semester calendar. This grade is converted into a standard letter grade by a decision of the unit's administrative board no later than the end of the add-drop period of the following academic semester.
