Studies and Graduation
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The assessment criteria of the program are primarily structured around theoretical courses, laboratory studies, and practical studies. At least one midterm examination and one final examination are administered for each course during the semester. Depending on the nature of the course, the instructor may assign additional academic activities such as quizzes, homework, projects, fieldwork, etc. Instructors are free to determine and modify the weighting of midterm examinations, final examinations, quizzes, projects, and similar activities in the assessment of student achievement.
For each course, students are awarded one of the following letter grades as their final grade. The letter grades and their corresponding coefficients are as follows:
Letter Grade Coefficient Grade Range (out of 100)
A 4 95-100
A- 3.7 90-94
B+ 3.3 85-89
B 3 80-84
B- 2.7 75-79
C+ 2.3 70-74
C 2 65-69
C- 1.7 60-64
D+ 1.3 55-59
D 1 50-54
F1 0 0-49
F2 0 -
Students whose practical work for a course is incomplete or whose final grade cannot be determined within the grading period because they are required to take a make-up examination are assigned an E grade. A student who receives an E grade must complete any outstanding work and take the make-up examination within ten days following the announcement of grades. Any extension of this period is subject to the decision of the relevant administrative board. An E grade that is neither extended by a decision of the relevant administrative board nor replaced by another grade within fifteen days automatically becomes an F1 grade.
An S grade is assigned for internships or practical courses conducted outside the academic semester calendar. This grade is converted into one of the final grades by a decision of the relevant administrative board no later than the end of the add/drop period of the following academic semester.
