| Course Description | This course includes mainly the synthesis, characterization and the forming techniques of ordinary and engineering plastics (polymers). Polymer types, synthesis methods, characterization techniques and manufacturing-molding processes and applications are covered. Moreover, structure-property relationship and applications of smart materials (especially organic semiconductors) are included. Course is supported with two laboratory works. The main aim of this course is to provide engineering students with a basic level of knowledge about the principles and practice of polymer science (plastic materials). This course also aims to develop laboratory skills relating polymeric materials. |
