Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Gain knowledge about advanced tissue engineering strategies to repair, replace and regenerate various tissues and organs.
  2. Learn the advanced strategies used in the production of various types of tissue scaffolds.
  3. Gain knowledge about 3D and 4D printing for tissue-engineered products.
  4. Learn the general nanotechnology applications for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Course DescriptionThis course gives an overview of tissue engineering strategies to repair, replace and ultimately regenerate various tissues and organs. In this course, the principles underlying these strategies for employing selected cells, biomaterial scaffolds, soluble regulators or their genes, and mechanical loading and culture conditions, for the regeneration of tissues and organs in vitro and in vivo are addressed. Students are required to discuss recent research articles in the area.
