Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

Recognizes the basic components of child and adolescent mental health.
They can take an active role in the solution processes of adaptation problems that may be encountered in schools.
Conceptualizes mental health problems in the psychological counseling process.
Plans a case conceptualization process based on the theoretical basis of mental health problems that may be encountered in the psychological counseling process.

Course Description

The aim of this course is to enable students to recognize mental health problems and adjustment problems on the basis of common cases in the context of school counseling, which is the most common area of employment as future counselors, and to identify, select and apply appropriate intervention or referral approaches. In this course, child and adolescent mental health, adjustment problems that may be encountered in school and the integration of counseling theories that can be used in solving these problems are included.
