At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Knows the basic theories regarding behavioral disorders and their treatment.
  2. Referring to theoretical knowledge about behavioral disorders, recognizes and interprets the symptoms shown by individuals (child-adolescent-adult) using relevant classification systems.
  3. Explains the relationship between physical diseases-symptoms and behavioral disorders.
  4. Shows sensitivity to medical support for behavioral disorders.
  5. Takes responsibility for intervention efforts within the framework of his/her competence area.
  6. Makes appropriate guidance for behavioral disorders determined to be outside the area of competence.
  7. Plans and carries out the necessary team work in the intervention processes related to any behavioral disorder.

Course DescriptionThis course aims to provide students with basic information about the definition, classification, causes, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral disorders. The course content includes the definition and causes of behavioral disorders according to different theories, classical classification and DSM diagnostic criteria; There are behavioral disorders and intervention methods according to DSM diagnostic criteria.
