Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Learn process definition, basic idea of upstream, downstream operations in process and their measurements, bioreactor types and components of bioreactors.
  2. Understand idea of conservation of energy and mass in process and principles of their balances, and basic stoichiometry of bioreactors,
  3. Understand fundamentals of monophasic and biphasic systems, ideal/real gases, and gaseous-liquid systems.
  4. Discuss basic bioengineering approaches in biotechnology in the context of course content.
