| Course Description | Apart from being entertainment, theater and performing arts reflect the social and cultural structure of societies and change with the effect of different factors such as technology and communication. Theatrical/musical scenes continue to develop both physically and semantically by being constructed within the holistic structure of the play content and spatial requirements. It is not possible to define the idea that is wanted to be conveyed in stage design only with ?place?. The important thing in stage design is to reveal the spatial data that can best express an idea/meaning/message and need. Within the scope of the course, stage and set design are discussed within the framework of the relation between theater/musical stage and space/equipment. In this context, the subject is conveyed in terms of the historical development process, the interaction values between the place and the theater stage. Flexible and changeable system approaches in design will be evaluated through musical scenes. In this course, students are expected to evaluate a selected play/musical theatre. The evaluation of the selected work will be done by the students and the scene setup will be taking into account by semantic and physical needs. In the midterm exam, the designed system setup will be presented, the game poster and design sketches will be delivered. In the final, the presentation and poster work of the stage design will be presented. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
