At the end of this course, the students;

Have basic knowledge about occupational health and safety, know important definitions and concepts in this context
Learns the historical development of OHS, developments in the world and in Turkey
Have knowledge about national and international institutions and organizations, important organizations, legal norms and binding contracts in the field of OHS
Learns the contents of safety culture and safety culture and the measures to be taken for the development of culture

Course Description

This course aims to provide students with a foundation in occupational health and safety concepts. The course covers basic definitions and concepts related to occupational health and safety; the historical development of OHS; practices in Turkey and around the world; national and international organizations; legal regulations and agreements; and safety culture, along with strategies for fostering this culture.

Course Contents

1^st Week	Introduction and basic information, definitions, and concepts related to occupational safety and health (OSH)
2^nd Week	General OSH rules and safety culture.
3^rd Week	The historical development of OSH, and its current status worldwide and in Turkey
4^th Week	National and international institutions, organizations, and agencies related to OSH, as well as key agreements and legislation
5^th Week	Fundamental principles of occupational safety and health
6^th Week	Current OSH practices in Turkey, along with OSH services and committees
7^th Week	The Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and related regulations; the legal rights and obligations of employers and employees
8^th Week	Midterm Exam
9^th Week	OHS services and practices
10^th Week	Services, duties, authorities, and responsibilities in OHS Units (İSGB) and Occupational Safety and Health Service Providers (OSGB)
11^th Week	OHS management and OHS training
12^th Week	Inspection and monitoring activities within the scope of OHS
13^th Week	Prevention and protection policies
14^th Week	Implementation of the 5S method in the workplace
