At the end of this course, the students;
- Explain the fundamental electrical, electronic, and acoustic components of audiological devices and their operating principles.
- xplain the functions of signal generators, transducers, microphones, amplifiers, and signal processing components used in audiological measurement systems.
- Identify the hardware and software features of audiological devices and compare their effects on measurement processes.
- Interpret the technical specifications, measurement capabilities, and operational limitations of devices used in audiological assessments.
- Distinguish among the concepts of accuracy, precision, reliability, repeatability, reproducibility, and measurement uncertainty in audiological measurements.
- Explain the basic measurement instruments, calibration methods, and reference values used in the calibration of audiological devices.
- Evaluate calibration and quality control results based on reference values and acceptable tolerance limits.
- Identify potential sources of technical errors in audiological measurements and interpret their possible effects on measurement results
- Perform calculations using sample calibration data, relevant measurement instruments, and reference values employed in the calibration of audiological devices.
