Course Description

Concepts of language, linguistics, and grammar; vocabulary and vocabulary elements; structural and semantic characteristics of words in Turkish; the vocabulary teaching process, vocabulary teaching in the Turkish Language Curriculum; vocabulary teaching strategies, methods and techniques; vocabulary teaching activities according to grade levels.

Course Contents

1^st Week	Distribution of syllabi and information about the course, explanation of the topics to be covered during the semester
2^nd Week	Language, linguistics, grammar, sub-branches of linguistics and grammar, basic concepts of language education
3^rd Week	The concept of vocabulary, receptive and productive vocabulary, elements of vocabulary (vocabulary/basic words, idioms, proverbs, reduplications, terms, fixed expressions?)
4^th Week	Word features in Turkish (structure and meaning features)
5^th Week	Language development and the vocabulary teaching process, concept design process.
6^th Week	Vocabulary teaching in Turkish Language Teaching Program, fundamentals of vocabulary teaching, vocabulary teaching applications
7^th Week	Vocabulary teaching strategies
8^th Week	Midterm exam week
9^th Week	Vocabulary teaching methods and techniques
10^th Week	Vocabulary teaching studies and applications abroad
11^th Week	Overview and evaluation of scientific studies on vocabulary teaching
12^th Week	Overview and evaluation of scientific studies on vocabulary teaching
13^th Week	Vocabulary teaching activities according to class levels
