Music notation.

Course Contents

1^st Week	Introduction to notation using in Turkish Music.
2^nd Week	13th and 14th centuries: Abcad systems of Safi Al-Din and Abd Al-Qadir.
3^rd Week	17th Century: Ali Ufki notation.
4^th Week	18th Century: Nayi Osman Dede and Kantemiroğlu notation.
5^th Week	18th century: Abdülbaki Nasır Dede notation.
6^th Week	18th century: Hamparsum notation.
7^th Week	19th century: Entry and spreading of Western notation to Turkey.
8^th Week	Midterm.
9^th Week	20th century: Adoptation of Western notation to Turkish Music and inventing new signs.
10^th Week	Notation in Indian music culture.
11^th Week	Notation in Chinese music culture.
12^th Week	Notations in Japanese and Korean music cultures.
13^th Week	Oral notation and mnemonics.
14^th Week	Mixed notation systems.
