Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Learn the rules of orthodontic biomechanics, can plan mechanics that can be applied in different clinical cases and produce alternative solutions to the problems that may be encountered in the clinical practice.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsIn order for the student to understand this course adequately, it is recommended to take Craniofacial Growth-Development and Etiology (ORT710) and Early Orthodontic Treatment Approaches (ORT713).
Course DescriptionIntroducing the basic principles of static and dynamic properties of orthodontic materials, explaining the clinical application methods of biomechanical principles, examining the types of orthodontic tooth movement and histological and biochemical changes seen during tooth movement and discussing the effects of different types of force applications on biological tissues.
