Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain and evaluate the fundamental principles of laser welding, the system components used, and the laser weldability of metallic materials.
  2. Explain laser welding process parameters and different joining techniques, and analyze the effects of these parameters on weld seam geometry and quality.
  3. Evaluate potential welding defects in laser welding, quality control methods, process control and automation systems, and explain occupational health and safety principles in laser welding.
