Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain the principles of geotechnical site investigations, soil sampling, and field testing methods,
  2. Analyze and design shallow and deep foundations considering bearing capacity and settlement criteria,
  3. Evaluate lateral earth pressures and design retaining structures, braced excavations, and reinforced soil systems,
  4. Select appropriate foundation systems and ground improvement techniques for problematic soil conditions and engineering applications.
