Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain and analyze the fundamentals of transportation planning, including travel demand forecasting and traffic modeling,
  2. Collect, organize, and analyze travel demand data and apply analytical and computational models such as trip distribution, modal split, and traffic assignment,
  3. Evaluate the effects of demand and capacity changes on transportation networks using quantitative modeling approaches to support decision-making.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsNone
Course DescriptionDetailed study of the transportation planning process. Inventory of existing travel demand, different types of O-D studies, analysis and model building, trip generation, trip distribution model split and trip assignment techniques, forecasting and plan evaluation.
