Course Description

According to many theorists, humanity is living in the age of visual culture after the ages of oral and written culture, and is perhaps under a greater bombardment of visual messages than ever before in history. In this context, communication has also changed form and become visual. Therefore, knowing theories of visual communication has become even more important today in terms of understanding and interpreting the culture we live in. The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge about the basic theories and approaches of visual communication, and thus to create the ability to recognize, interpret and analyze visual communication elements and culture.
