Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explains the basic concepts of medical terminology, its historical development, and the rules of pronunciation and spelling.
  2. Distinguishes the roots, prefixes, and suffixes that form medical terms; explains eponyms and acronyms.
  3. Explains basic medical terms related to the musculoskeletal, digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems.
  4. Explains basic medical terms related to the urogenital, nervous, and endocrine systems, as well as blood and blood-forming organs, the eye, ear, and skin.

Course DescriptionThis course includes; medical terminology introduction, roots prefixes and suffixes, body structure, cell, tissue and organs, diagnosis and treatment, heart and circulatory system, respiratory system diseases, drugs, blood, digestive system, urinary system, reproductive system, endocrine system, senses, nervous system and behavioral disorders, skeletal system, symbols and abbreviations, medical report epicrisis ICD.
