Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Describe the structure and function of key cellular components and biomolecules.
  2. Explain molecular processes like gene expression, signaling, and cell cycle regulation.carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids and vital macromolecules.
  3. Analyze experimental data and techniques used in molecular cell biology research
  4. Connect molecular mechanisms to cellular behaviors and human diseases (e.g., cancer, genetic disorders).
  5. Critically evaluate primary literature in the field.

Course DescriptionThis course provides an in-depth exploration of the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular structure, function, and regulation. Building on foundational biology, it integrates principles from biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology to explain how cells operate at the molecular level. Emphasis is placed on experimental approaches, current techniques, and applications in health, disease, and biotechnology. The course prepares students for advanced topics in molecular biology, such as genomics, developmental biology, and cancer biology.
