Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Knows how cells communicate with each other
  2. Knows intracellular signal transduction pathways
  3. Knows how intracellular signal transduction pathways affect cell functions such as transcription, translation, intracellular protein traffic and cell proliferation.
  4. Knows the pathological conditions related to the deterioration of signal transmission.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsNone
Course DescriptionThe students are expected to understand sensing, integration and amplification of extracellular signals, generation and integration of cellular responses, changes in enzyme activities, gene expressions and protein properties as a response which in turn affect cellular proliferation, growth, motility and cell death. The student will also gain knowledge of pathologies caused by deregulation of integrated signaling circuits.
