Course DescriptionThe aim of this course is to give students basic information about radio and television journalism and to prepare them for radio and television journalism profession by using this information. It is of paramount importance that students actively participate in class through assignments, perspectives, inquiries, and critiques.

1st Week The concepts of news, the relationship between news and reality: Liberal-Pluralist approach.
2nd Week The relationship between news and reality: Critical approaches.
3rd Week News analysis.
4th Week News analysis.
5th Week Kinds of news. News gathering and production process.
6th Week Theoretical approaches to the television news-1.
7th Week Theoretical approaches to the television news-2.
8th Week News analysis.
9th Week News analysis.
10th Week The basic concepts of TV journalism.
11th Week The characteristics of TV journalism.
12th Week The importance of TV interview: Case discussions.
13th Week The usage of image at the announcement: Case discussions.The stages of radio news production.
14th Week The stages of radio news production. Podcast journalism.
