Course Description

Text-centeredness and text types in Turkish teaching. Text selection and using in the Turkish Curriculum and Turkish textbooks, basic principles to be considered in text selection and using in Turkish teaching. Text selection and using in terms of material development processes for teaching Turkish. Practices regarding text selection and using.

Course Contents

1^st Week	Text-centeredness and text types in Turkish teaching.
2^nd Week	Selection and using of texts in the Turkish Curriculum and Turkish textbooks.
3^rd Week	Main sources for text selection in Turkish teaching, basic principles to be considered in text selection and using in terms of material development in Turkish teaching.
4^th Week	Basic principles to be considered in text selection and using in terms of material development in Turkish teaching.
5^th Week	Evaluation of the suitability and limitations of event-based genres in the text selection and using process of Turkish teaching.
6^th Week	Evaluation of the suitability and limitations of emotion-based genres in the text selection and using process of Turkish teaching.
7^th Week	Evaluation of the suitability and limitations of knowledge-based genres in the process of text selection and using of Turkish teaching.
8^th Week	Midterm Exam.
9^th Week	Text selection and using based on fiction texts, applications.
10^th Week	Text selection and using based on fiction texts, applications.
11^th Week	Text selection and using based on texts in the form of poetry, applications.
12^th Week	Text selection and using based on texts in the form of poetry, applications.
