Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain the concept of mathematical modeling, types of models suitable for primary school level, and the stages of the modeling process.
  2. Analyze the similarities and differences between mathematical modeling and problem-solving processes in the context of primary school.
  3. Interpret modeling tasks suitable for primary school level according to evaluation criteria.
  4. Design modeling activities appropriate for the age and level of primary school students based on real-life situations.
  5. Develop instructional solutions for difficulties that students may encounter during the modeling process.
  6. Critically evaluate modeling activities in light of national and international research.
