At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Express basic concepts related to parent involvement.
  2. Explain importance, aims and principles of parent education.
  3. Explain parent education models, family theories (family system theories, social relations theory, bioecological theory, structural functional theory).
  4. explain parent education practices in Turkey and other countries.
  5. Evaluate planning, implementation and evaluation of parent education studies, methods and techniques used in parent education.
  6. Evaluate parent participation studies (parent communication studies, participation of the parent in educational activities, individual interviews, home visits),
  7. Analyze investigation of 0-36 months children and integrated parent support education guide (EBADER) and preschool education program and integrated parent support education guide (OBADER) education program.

Course DescriptionIn this course, the following topics are covered: The importance and objectives of family education Models of family education Examples of family education studies worldwide Preparation, implementation, and evaluation of family education programs Methods and techniques used in family education The involvement of families in education, particularly in early childhood, within the scope of family participation activities.
