At the end of this course, the students;
- Creates/interprets the architectural program regarding the design problem and develop an architectural discourse within the framework of the theory-practice relationship.
- Discusses the role of active actors in the production of space within the framework of social responsibility, public interest, and professional ethics.
- Analyzes socio-cultural data, built and natural environment relationships, functional and spatial requirements related to the project topic and generate settlement decisions at an urban scale.
- Produces design solutions for complex architectural programs that respond to the needs of multiple and diverse user groups.
- Reflects safety, accessibility, and building physics requirements into design solutions by considering relevant regulations.
- Produces design solutions that utilize construction techniques and material knowledge at an advanced level and can detail them at different scales.
- Develop sustainable solutions that holistically address ecological, social, and economic dimensions while producing design solutions.
- Represents design ideas and the architectural project using advanced presentation techniques.

| Course Description | MIM 492 Design Studio VI aims to produce design solutions for complex architectural programs that respond to the needs of multiple and diverse user groups and to develop design skills at different scales. In this context, students are expected to produce original, contemporary, and innovative architectural solutions by reflecting the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their entire educational process, particularly in architectural design courses, into their architectural designs. Students are expected to support their conceptual frameworks, established by considering the relationship between theory and practice, with analyses investigating socio-cultural data, built and natural environment relationships, and functional and spatial requirements, aiming to produce sustainable architectural solutions that holistically address ecological, social, and economic dimensions. In this course, students are expected to create and develop the architectural program, incorporate current debates into the design process, handle knowledge of structure and materials in a practice-oriented manner, and present their design ideas in a clear, accurate, and impressive way using 2D and 3D drawing and modeling tools and techniques. |
