Course DescriptionMIM 191 Basic Design I acquaints the learner with the fundamentals of design and its principles. The course aims to develop students' cognitive abilities and manual skills in generating solutions to two- and three-dimensional basic design problems. It also seeks to strengthen students' understanding of "abstraction" and "order", emphasizing principles of visual organization in a visual environment. The course fosters students' awareness and ability to systematically combine multiple and diverse design elements and volumes with varying characteristics into coherent compositions. Through the experience of generating original ideas, students further develop their ability to express these ideas using the 2D and 3D representation techniques acquired in drawing and presentation courses.
