| Course Description | Today, the concept of ideology is often used negatively in everyday political practices. Despite this negative usage, political ideologies continue to be one of the main factors in forming individuals' political preferences and political mobilization. Moreover, political ideologies continue to define the boundaries of democratic and non-democratic political competition. For this reason, it is important to understand and reflect on political ideologies and the transformations that different ideologies undergo within themselves. The aim of this course is to present the different approaches to the concept of ideology within the historical evolution of the concept and to examine different political ideologies together with the transformations they have undergone within themselves. At the end of this course, students will have an in-depth knowledge of the concept of political ideology, how different ideologies have changed and the philosophical/theoretical foundations of these ideologies. |
