Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

Learning about textile types and mastering the selection criteria for textiles used in interior spaces (color-texture-acoustics-fire, etc.)
Have the ability to determine the appropriate textile material for the space during the application process
Acquiring theoretical knowledge on the use of textile materials on surfaces in accordance with the project.

Course Description

It is aimed to gain the ability to recognize the types of textile materials used in the interior and to evaluate the material selections in the application processes.

Course Contents

WEEK	TOPICS
1^st Week	Introduction, conveying the course content and expectations related to the course, introducing the resources to be used for the course
2^nd Week	Determining the internal perception-perception components. Interior surface (Ceiling-Wall-Floor) color-light and texture relationship
3^rd Week	General definition of textile material, interior-textile relationship. Textile material performance and classification (Acoustic-Fire etc.)
4^th Week	Textile material selection criteria. Natural fibers-plant and animal fibers-metallic fibers, mineral fibers, artificial fibers and their definitions
5^th Week	Textile, interior and furniture design interaction
6^th Week	Midterm evaluation I- Project critiques and class discussion
7^th Week	MIDTERM EXAM
8^th Week	Textile types in interior spaces-Areas of use-Textile types in interior spaces-Textile and sustainability criteria
9^th Week	Usage of textiles in vertical elements; curtain types and dividers Textile on the floor; carpets and technical features (modular systems-single piece etc.)
10^th Week	Concept creation for the final project and selection of interior textiles- Presentation critiques and repetition
11^th Week	Relationship between furniture and textiles- Selection criteria
12^th Week	Research and field trip on textile samples
13^th Week	Presentation critiques-repetition
14^th Week	Presentation critiques-repetition
