| Course Description | This course can be divided into two parts. The first and the larger part studies the various aspects of the EU's democracy deficit as a sui generis governing body and the potential shortcomings of the alternatives to overcome it. In the second part the rationale, strategies, dilemmas, and built-in contradictions of the European Union's democratization agenda towards the third countries will be discussed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
