At the end of this course, the students;

Can explain the fundamental concepts, theories, and legal regulations related to intellectual property rights.
Distinguish the scope and functions of copyright, patents, trademarks, utility models, and other intellectual property rights.
Can critically evaluate contemporary legal and ethical issues concerning intellectual property rights within the framework of national and international regulations.

Course Description

This course deals with the principles, concepts and theories of Intellectual Property Rights with a critical approach, and covers the topics of copyright, patent, registered trademark, utility model, etc. It aims to provide general information on copyrighted intellectual property rights and national and international legal regulations.

3^rd Week	Types of intellectual property rights: Copyright, patents, trademarks, designs, and utility models
4^th Week	Basic principles of copyright and the concept of authorship/work
5^th Week	Authorship, economic rights, and moral rights
6^th Week	Copyright in cinema, television, and digital media works
7^th Week	Trademark rights and brand management in creative industries
8^th Week	Patents, utility models, and industrial design rights_01
9^th Week	Patents, utility models, and industrial design rights_02
10^th Week	Licensing, transfer of rights, and contracts
11^th Week	Digital media, the internet, and copyright infringements
12^th Week	Social media, user-generated content, and fair use debates
