At the end of this course, the students;
- Apply probability theory to formulate structural reliability problems,
- Analyze and model extreme events using appropriate extreme value distributions,
- Evaluate the reliability of structural components using classical reliability theory,
- Design and implement Monte Carlo simulation techniques for reliability analysis,
- Interpret and apply probability-based codified design principles and demonstrate an understanding of seismic fragility and vulnerability models.
