Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Analyze meteorological processes and atmospheric circulation mechanisms; plan data collection networks and test the consistency of observational data,
  2. Examine hydrological processes such as precipitation, evaporation, and infiltration using statistical methods; analyze the components of streamflow time series,
  3. Apply unit hydrograph theory and synthetic hydrograph methods to model basin characteristics and the rainfall-runoff relationship,
  4. Perform risk and reliability assessments by conducting flood frequency analyses; examine flood propagation using reservoir and channel flood routing methods (Muskingum, Saint-Venant approaches, etc.),
  5. Formulate the erosion mechanism, sediment production, and transport in river basins; distinguish between deterministic, probabilistic, and stochastic approaches in the modeling of hydrological systems.
