Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain the geological, geotechnical, and engineering factors affecting tunnel design and construction,
  2. Analyze tunnel stability and select appropriate excavation and support methods based on ground conditions,
  3. Apply geotechnical design principles and rock mass characterization methods in tunnel projects,
  4. Evaluate tunnel construction processes considering occupational safety, monitoring requirements, and project cost aspects.
