At the end of this course, the students;
- Understand the roles and key properties of concrete constituents (cementitious binders, aggregates, water, admixtures, fibers) and their effects on performance,
- Explain the behavior of fresh and hardened concrete and describe how mix parameters and curing conditions influence these properties,
- Relate concrete microstructure (hydration products, pore structure, ITZ) to macro-scale properties (strength, stiffness, shrinkage/creep, permeability, durability),
- Interpret standard test results for fresh and hardened concrete (e.g., workability, strength, durability indicators) to evaluate concrete quality and performance,
- Apply advanced concrete technology knowledge to design and produce suitable concrete mixes.

| Course Description | This course provides information about the characteristics of fresh concrete, including its workability, consistency, bleeding, stiffening, setting, air entrainment, unit weight, uniformity, batching, mixing, conveying, placing, compaction, and curing, as well as the characteristics of hardened concrete, including their nature and significance, various types of strength, compressive strength, tensile strength, fatigue strength, durability, shrinkage, and volume changes. |
