Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Selection of patients who may benefit from interventional hemodynamic follow-up in the intensive care unit.
  2. Selection of patients who need to be diagnosed with interventional hemodynamic methods in intensive care and who need continuous hemodynamic monitoring
  3. Interpretation of data such as arterial pressure, variables determining tissue oxygenation, tissue hypoperfusion markers, venous oxygen saturation, arterial oxygen saturation, lactic acid and regional circulation and/or microcirculation markers, and determination of hemodynamic targets in the intensive care unit
  4. Determination of hemodynamic resuscitation targets in the light of shock and cardiogenic shock pathophysiology
  5. Gaining theoretical and practical abilities to use echocardiography in hemodynamic resuscitation and hemodynamic monitoring
  6. Learning evidence-based benefit and harm of hemodynamic diagnosis, follow-up and supportive treatment
  7. Ability to identify candidates for advanced hemodynamic support, device therapies or referral to related departments, and obtaining the necessary information to follow-up of these patientsc
  8. Gaining knowledge and using skills about hemodynamic support methods and devices
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme Components
Course DescriptionWithin the scope of this course, students will learn the indications, contraindications, measurement principles and clinical use of the data obtained in applications such as central venous catheterization, invasive artery monitoring, pulmonary artery catheterization and cardiac output monitoring. They will know the indications, contraindications, working principles, follow-up and weaning principles of cardiac support device applications such as IABP, VA ECMO in the treatment of cardiogenic shock unresponsive to drug therapy in cardiology intensive care patients. In patients who have a cardiac support device implanted, they will learn to adjust the flow settings of these devices, with possible complications, treatment methods.
