Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Explain the fundamental concepts of molecular biology and the structure and transmission of genetic information.
  2. Distinguish the basic molecular diagnostic techniques used in molecular pathology, including their principles and areas of application.
  3. Interpret the role and clinical significance of PCR-based, hybridization-based, and sequencing technologies in molecular pathology practice.

Course DescriptionScope and Purpose of the Course: The Molecular Pathology Techniques course aims to teach basic molecular biology processes and techniques used in molecular pathology that will help students understand pathological processes at the cellular and genetic level. This course teaches the technical details, application and place of technologies such as DNA and RNA isolation and analysis techniques, PCR, qPCR, FISH and DNA sequencing, which are basic molecular biology methods. This course aims to provide students with the ability to know the details of molecular biology techniques, compare them and apply them to specific situations.
