Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Have information about the types of works and the rights of the artist.
  2. Have knowledge about the concept of trademark and trademark protection.
  3. With the presentations they prepare, they both get information about the development processes of certain trademarks and improve their communication skills.
  4. Have knowledge about the concept of invention and the legal protection of the invention
  5. Have knowledge about design, concepts of similarity in design and legal protection.

1st Week Introduction to the course and introduction to copyright law (Concept of copyright, legal framework, etc.)
2nd Week Basic concept of copyright law: Work (Definition of the concept, types of works, etc.)
3rd Week Cinematic works
4th Week Fine art works
5th Week Author of the work (Rights ownership of real and legal persons, artificial intelligence)
6th Week Rights granted to the author (Economic and moral rights, protection period, etc.)
7th Week Midterm
8th Week Limitations on the rights of the author
9th Week Related rights - Part 1
10th Week Related rights - Part 2
11th Week Social media and copyright
12th Week Legal remedies against copyright infringements
13th Week Examples related to the discussed topics and their discussion
