Course DescriptionIn this course, which examines the formation and transformation stages of art within the social, cultural, and historical processes of each geographical area, the development of art is studied from the Paleolithic period to the early 20th century through prominent examples with new findings. Besides the development of art within its own geography, intercultural interactions and their effects are analyzed. Within this scope, the following stages of art are covered, mainly focusing on the Mediterranean, Europe, and Anatolian regions. The course aims to present the historical and cultural transformation of art to the student rather than relying on rote memorization.
